Rollins Spring Term Updates

A Message from President Cornwell

Dear College of Liberal Arts Students and Families:
I want to thank our campus community for continuing to uphold our Tars Promise as COVID-19 cases increase locally and nationally.
We are nearing the end of a historic fall term at Rollins. Our goal has been to provide you with a safe and academically rich semester, and you have all adapted gracefully, whether helping us sustain a healthy on-campus environment for living and learning, or being just as resilient by continuing your Rollins education remotely.
Please read below for important information about the spring semester.

Fiat Lux!

Updates on the Spring Term

Spring Academic Calendar

After receiving feedback from the Rollins community, the College has made the following changes to the academic calendar:

  • Two (2) no-class days were added to the spring term, providing students and faculty a respite during the semester. This change to the academic year applies to CLA and Holt students, only.
  • Reading days, final exams, and the last day of the academic year were adjusted to accommodate those changes.

Wellness & Testing

Wellness Recommendations over Winter Break

Students living on campus in the spring will need to incorporate the following pre-arrival procedures into their plans.

  • Quarantine at home 14 days prior to arrival to Rollins.
  • Use the #CampusClear app daily. If you fail the screening, it is important to get tested prior to coming to campus.

COVID-19 Testing

Earlier this week you received a message from Wellness outlining holiday and travel advice and testing updates from the Wellness Center. Please familiarize yourself with those recommendations.

Consider COVID-19 testing a few days prior to traveling/returning home for Winter Break. Contact the Wellness Center (407-628-6340) to schedule a COVID test or for your free flu shot.

In the spring, residential students are required to undergo a COVID test within 5-10 days upon their return to Rollins. Non-residential students will have the opportunity to opt-in for COVID testing.

Quarantine and Isolation

Students in quarantine or isolating at the end of the academic year may stay in their residential room until they can travel home safely.

Residential Life Move-In

Pre-Arrival Procedures for Residential Students

First-time residential students (January 16-17)

  • Download #CampusClear prior to move-in. You will undergo a wellness check during the RLE check-in process at the Alfond Sports Center.
  • Specific move-in times will be assigned as a part of your residential hall assignments. Assignments will be shared in mid-December.

Returning residential students (January 16-18)

  • You will show your #CampusClear wellness pass to your resident assistant upon your return.

Non-residential students

  • Students living off-campus will continue to follow all wellness recommendations and complete the #CampusClear app each day throughout the academic year.
