This is the capstone course to your study of International Relations here at Rollins College, an attempt to synthesize four years of examining the international system.  As such we will cover a wide range of ground, from international political economy and foreign policy to international security and international organization.   But this is not a lecture course.  It is a seminar and, as such, the ultimate success of the course places a heavy burden on you, the students.

As you will see from the grading distribution noted in your syllb, much of what we do in this class revolves around either critical analysis of theoretical readings or practical application of that theory in a simulation context.  Our goal, then, is not only do you graduate from Rollins College with sound theoretical training in international relations but that you also are adept at applying this theory in a practical context.
