Transformation is at the heart of nuclear fire
Every thirteen minutes an unbound neutron decays
into a set of charged particles.

The decay of neutrons due to the weak force
creates protons.

By definition a proton is a hydrogen ion.
If the proton captures an electron
the hydrogen atom has a positive charge countered by the electron's (blue) negative charge.
Once, the above, planetary model of the hydrogen atom was considered accurate.
